LPGA  It's all technique

Learning from the girls

LPGA
There is a lot to be learned from the LPGA. It is very interesting to watch women, sometimes less than 100 pounds and 5 foot nothing, hit the ball 260, 270 or 280 yards. There are no hidden muscle groups at work. They just flat out do not have that strength. The technique you see is just that, technique.
Karrie Webb has been my favorite to watch since she first joined the tour. I found her techniques to be some of the most reliable I have ever seen. Her pre-shot routine was interesting to watch. I expect to see her dominate womens golf again. The greatest value of having a reliable swing technique is that it requires less practice to stay sharp. This frees up a lot of time to work on the short game. Soo yun Kang is another player with very reliable swing techniques. I would not be surprised to see her as one of the top 5 players on tour in the near future. Competition in women's golf is very far from reaching its peak. There is still a lot of opportunity for young women to earn scholarships at many Universities. A high school aged girl willing to devote a half hour a day to golf training would stand a pretty good chance of landing one of these scholarships.
